Many new age teachings would have you believe that you are living the life you are because of something called Karma - "Karma the law of cause and effect," so if you have been a bad person to other people in some life, then you will be on the receiving end of the bad treatment this life.

Well for years I researched and questioned the Law of Karma, and this is what I discovered.

1. Firstly telling someone that they are stuck in a life of misery because of what they have done 300 years ago is simply an ingenious way to disempower you from feeling in control of your own destiny.

1. Secondly, if you don't want to take responsibility for your life as it is right now, you can simply yell to the universe, "Its Karmic - it's not my fault."

Either way, the end result is you totally give away "the power of now," and you become a victim of life.  Now if that's what you want for your life, well it's your choice, many people do opt out wanting someone else to take care of them and solve all their problems, that's true but do you?

The most powerful thing I can say on this subject are these words, " you are not your past, you are who you choose to be."  It is they way you think that governs your choices, so if your choices are not wide enough, then learn some new skills.  Do a psychology course, do some study, learn to communicate, become interdependent with your choices.

Your life today is the greatest gift God can bring to you - what you do with it is your choice!
